The Regional Entry Level Institute

May 25-27, 2010

The 13th annual Regional Entry-Level Institute (RELI) is scheduled for May 25 - 27, 2010 at UMBC (MD). Please share this exciting professional development opportunity with entry-level housing and residence life staff members (those with 0 – 3 years of professional work experience).

RELI provides entry-level staff members who are interested in moving up the career ladder with needed information on seven competencies (listed on the attached brochure). Participants will be assigned to a faculty mentor with whom they work closely during the Institute. The cost of the Institute is $250 which includes lodging, meals, and supplies. MACUHO provides 10 scholarships ($100 each) to the first 10 applicants who are accepted into the Institute. The application is also attached. Only 28 participants are accepted each year (approximately half from MACUHO and half from NEACUHO). Last year, we received about 40 applications (from MACUHO & NEACUHO).

The deadline for submitting application materials is March 1, 2010.

To apply, complete the application form and attach your current resume and a letter of support for your candidacy from your chief housing officer. Send your completed application packet by MARCH 1, 2010 to:

Application review begins in March and continues on a rolling basis. Selections are made based on applicants’ experiences, personal goals for the Institute, and regional/institutional balance.

Cost for RELI is $250 per person, which includes 2 nights of lodging, meals and all materials. NOTE – please check with your regional association (NEACUHO or MACUHO) about available RELI scholarships that may further reduce the cost to you and/or your institution.

Upon acceptance to the Institute, send your check or money order payable to ‘Westfield State College – RELI’ to: Dr. Jon Conlogue, Executive Director of Residential Services and Campus Life, Westfield State College, Westfield, MA 01086. Payment must be received by APRIL 15TH, 2010.
